England: Goodwood Festival of Speed
Unique Classic Car Tour to the Goodwood Festival of Speed
Day 1: Brooklands and Driving at Mercedes-Benz World
We will be meeting you at London Heathrow Airport around mid-morning after which we will escort you to your hotel near Brooklands. This specific province is where entrepreneur Hugh Fortescue Locke-King built the world’s first car racing circuit in 1907, which included 2 Grand Prix. In addition to visiting the Brookland Museum near Mercedes-Benz World, we offer exciting AMG driver training on the modern test tracks, and an off-road training experience on the historic grounds where motorsport and aviation battled it out in the 20th century. We will conclude this exciting first day with an evening dinner together in anticipation for the Festival of Speed to begin.
Day 2: The Goodwood Festival of Speed
Early in the morning you will immediately experience the highlight of this trip; the Goodwood Festival of Speed. To sum it up plain and simple, it’s a rare mix of an elegant, English picnic, and the adrenaline of an exhilarating mountain race. Every year, more than 200,000 visitors from all over the world make a pilgrimage to the island’s most infamous car celebration. Oldtimers, Formula 1 cars, supercars, and rally cars make the 1.86 km long trek, the “Hill Climb“, to showcase everything they have to offer. On our helicopter flight over Goodwood, you will get an impression of the vast grounds owned by the Earl of March and Kinrara. On a tour of the paddocks, you will meet famous racecar drivers; the heroes of years past and of today, all without any reservations. After a very eventful day, we will drive you back to your hotel in the evening where you can eat, relax, and recount today’s events.
Day 3: The British Motor Museum
Nestled in a picturesque landscape that was once the center of the British auto industry in Gaydon, Warwickshire, we will get some insightful knowledge at the British Motor Museum. Great Britain was the second-largest automaker in the world from 1932 to 1955. In addition to more well-known brands such as Aston Martin, Jaguar, Land Rover, you will have the opportunity to see iconic cars from some lesser known manufacturers such as Armstrong Siddeley, Jensen, Riley, and Wolseley u.v.m. After a shared lunch, we bring our guests who had not booked the extension back to London Heathrow Airport to say a fond farewell. For the participants of the second half of the journey, we will head towards Worcester to a former Benedictine monastery, which has recently been transformed into a boutique hotel.
Day 4 (Extension): Through English Counties in the Morgan Roadster
The Morgan Motor Company in Worcestershire is an English manufacturer that has successfully maintained its market since its founding in 1909: luxury cars with traditional craftsmanship. The 4/4, Plus 4, Plus Six and 3 Wheeler models, which are coveted by connoisseurs, are still handmade today, as sports cars with a retro look but with modern technology and impressive driving capabilities. We will drive our Morgan models directly from the company for a one-day trip through scenic and idyllic English landscapes of the Cotswolds. The routes are among the most beautiful in Great Britain: long, straight sections alternate with winding forest trails. Along the way we will find time-honored inns for lunch and round off this momentous day through England with a dinner together
Day 5 (Extension): The Morgan Factory Visit
After the check-out, we will get an exclusive factory tour experience of the Morgan Motor Company. There’s something sublime about going through the workshops built by founder Henry Frederick Stanley Morgan, and witnessing Morgan-built automobiles. On the way back to London, there would be time for a surprise stop in William Shakespeare’s birthplace; Stratford-upon-Avon, before we escort you to your return flight at London Heathrow.
Price per person, in double rooms and for two in a car (Morgan exit on day 4)
