Arrival at Milan-Malpensa Airport and transfer to Hotel Splendid on the shores of Lake Maggiore. Meet your fellow travelers for an aperitif on the hotel terrace, followed by a presentation of the Alfa Romeo Spider fleet and an explanation of the tourbook. The first excursion takes you to Lake Mergozzo, ideal for getting acquainted with your Spider. In the evening, enjoy a scenic boat ride in old wooden boats around the illuminated Isola Bella. Today, an awe-inspiring route awaits you through rugged gorges and secluded mountain valleys in the Valle Cannobina west of Cannobio. You cross the Swiss border, ascend through seemingly endless switchbacks to ancient-looking mountain villages, and eventually reach the upscale town of Ascona. Take a stroll along Ascona's glamorous lakeside promenade and take some time to relax. In the afternoon, the route leads you back to Baveno along the western lakeside road and picturesque promenades.
In the morning, a winding drive accompanied by the sonorous roar of the Alfa engines awaits you. In just 18 kilometers, you cover an impressive mountain route, from the 200 meters of Lake Maggiore to the 1,490-meter-high Monte Mottarone. From here, you have a magnificent view of Lake d'Orta, Lake Maggiore, and the snow-covered peaks of the Swiss Alps. After lunch, you will visit the enchanting old town of Orta San Giulio. In the afternoon, you will drive on lightly traveled country roads through two natural parks to the western shore of Lake Maggiore. On the way back to the hotel, you will pass Art Nouveau villas and magnificent gardens. In the evening, enjoy dinner at a charming trattoria overlooking the lake.
In the morning, you will visit the impressive Castel Angera on the southern shore of Lake Maggiore. This fortress, with its origins dating back to Roman times, houses one of Italy's most important noble families. By climbing nearly 150 steps, you will reach the defensive tower, from where you can enjoy an unparalleled view. After the visit, a final group lunch is scheduled. Afterwards, you will drive along the lakeshore, passing by the Hermitage of Santa Caterina del Sasso, until you reach Laveno. From there, the ferry will take you to the western shore.
