Rolling hills, expansive views – Tuscany at its best
Day 1 Chiantishire
Your transfer from the airport to the hotel will give you a good idea of what to expect in the coming days. Your trip will get off to a grand start when you check into boutique hotel Borgo Scopeto Relais****, a former aristocratic estate, from where you’ll be able to enjoy the magnificent view over Siena as you eat your lunch on the terrace. Your heart will start beating even faster when you start the ignition for the first time and drive off in your Mercedes-Benz SL classic car. The rolling hills of Chianti between Florence and Siena, with their famous wineries, are symbolic for Tuscany. The world-famous cultural landscape of Chianti is characterized by its old castles and palaces, as well as dense woodland and vast forests. And of course, itʼs important to pay a visit to one of the charming wineries. Stop off at one of the world’s oldest wineries, also the ancestral seat of a noble family.
Day 2 Pienza and Crete Senesi
Fantastic scenery that will set your heart alight lies ahead of you today. Follow quiet country roads through the Crete Senesi, characterized by clay, cypress trees, expansive fields of grain and oak forests. There, where Tuscany is at its most beautiful, you will find the small town of Pienza, designed by Pope Pius II as an ʼideal cityʼ. Your tour guide will not only show you the castle and impressive Renaissance palaces, but youʼll also have the chance to stroll through small, winding alleys and along the boulevard of Corso Rossellino. After all that culture, your classic car will be eager to get going again. Charming vineyards and the town of Montepulciano will provide the backdrop to your return journey. In the evening, we take you to an agriturismo known for its remarkable cuisine and charming atmosphere.
3. Tag: Volterra – Stadt des Alabasters
The drivers among you can celebrate: todayʼs route is the longest and most varied. Through land cultivated since ancient times, peppered with majestic villas, medieval castles and quiet, remote monasteries, you will drive along this panoramic road to the Etruscan town of Volterra, taking in San Gimignano en route. During your guided tour of Volterra’s picturesque old town, youʼll be amazed by the artistic skills of the Alabaster artists in one of the studios. Vineyards with world-renowned names and the Tuscan “Ore Mountains”, from which the ancient Etruscans gathered their riches, are characteristic of the landscapes that will accompany you on the classic car stage that will take you back to your hotel. The hotel terrace, with its spectacular view of Siena and the surrounding vineyards, provides the perfect setting for an atmospheric aperitivo in the evening light.
Day 4 Siena, a gothic gem
Attracted by their beauty, the rolling hills surrounding Siena has always been home to many artists. Let your gaze wander once more from your roadster into the idyllic distance, before you turn your attention to the cultural legacy of this city on your tour of Siena (UNESCO World Heritage). The cityscape is dominated by the mighty cathedral made of black and white marble, whose artistically decorated marble inlays on the floor have achieved worldwide fame. We will take you to Florence airport in time for your return flight, with memories of eventful days and an authentic driving experience at the wheel of our Mercedes-Benz SL in your luggage. It was an absolute delight and privilege having partaken in your Tuscany tour. Both my partner Rebecca and I weren’t too sure how regimented or strict things would be ( and justifiably so given the nature and rarity of the vehicles) and were just super impressed how generous your company is in letting us drive on such long excursions with these lovely cars. Also the added attention to details like wine tasting and tours of some of the towns was fantastic and a lovely bonus. Secondly the accommodation that you have selected is fantastic. The Borgo Scopeto Relais felt really special and was a perfect backdrop to the splendor of your cars showcased in that environment. Your cars are absolutely lovely. Beautifully presented and the ones that I selected during the tour being the metallic green 280SL , the baby blue Pagoda, the silver 300SL and the copper colored 250 pagoda were just sensational both in presentation and performance. Truely a dream come true. Additionally Alex, Noel and Khari were absolutely fantastic. Bexs and I were so impressed with their demeanour … all professional, kind , polite and attentive. Honestly, we could not fault them and really enjoyed their company. A big thank you for your selection of lovely staff. We absolutely loved everything about it and I congratulate your company for providing such a unique and wonderful experience.

During our four-day adventure, we were provided such a choice from a multitude of classic 113 Pagodas and R107 SL’s to ply the back roads of Tuscany. Those routes wound through heavenly landscapes and intriguing Italian cities, and, without a doubt, their operation is the height of classic, relaxed motoring in an exceptional environment. You don’t have to go fast in a convertible, especially in Italy, with a Mercedes-Benz convertible. The fresh country air and sunshine provide you with all of the makings of La Dolce Vita.

The Drives over the four days were very enjoyable and each destination was fascinating and interesting. The Tour Guides for the various tours were knowledgeable and entertaining. Tuscany was a very enjoyable experience with stunning views and a joy to drive in an open top Mercedes SL. The entire Tour was well organised and the Host, Felix, made it enjoyable for all of us. The restaurant in Siena for the Group Dinner was very nice and the food was excellent.

Wir sind derart begeistert, dass wir gar nicht wissen, wo wir anfangen sollen…
Zunächst ist diese Reise für denjenigen, der der Fahr- und Markenkultur des besten Automobilherstellers der Welt verfangen ist, schonmal von diesem Aspekt her betrachtet, eine/diese außergewöhnliche Reise wert. Doch was Walter und sein Team um den vorgenannten Mercedes-Benz Aspekt erweitert in Ausgestaltung, Betreuung im Rahmen dieser fantastischen Ausfahrten in der magischen Landschaften der Toskana packen, ist einfach nur MEGA!!!
Es gibt darüberhinaus auch kulturell beleuchtete Aspekte mit ebenso gebuchten Premium-Stadtführern, die einem die beeindruckende Geschichte der Toskana und deren bedeutender Städte wie Volterra, Siena etc. näherbringen – also es wird auch noch etwas für die „Birne“ mitgenommen. Sämtliche diese Reise betreffenden Bestandteile sind Premium und meine Frau und ich haben diese 3 Tage der Ausfahrten mit wechselden SL-Modellen der verschiedenen Epochen mit einem Erholungswert vergleichbar 2 Wochen derem empfunden, sodass wir für uns bereits entschieden haben, in 2020 die nächste SL-Ausfahrt an der Cote dÁzur zu buchen!
