Tuscany: Experience dream roads in an Alfa Romeo Spider
La Dolce Vita at the wheel of an Alfa Romeo Spider
Day 1: In the heart of Tuscany
After the check-in at hotel ‘Borgo di Vescine’, we will welcome you with a light lunch on the beautiful hotel terrace, where you will get to know your fellow travellers. From here you can already see the chrome flashing oldtimers in line, your heart beats faster as soon as you turn the ignition key for the first time and start with your Alfa Romeo Spider to the first drive through the Chianti area. This famous vineyard region lies between Florence and Siena. At a former monastery and organic vineyard we make a charming stop for a visit and tasting of the local Chianti Classicos. Luckily, we get even more at dinner together.
Day 2: Dream roads of Crete Senesi
Today you can see the dreamlike landscape of Crete Senesi with its wide cereal fields, the hardly used country roads and large oak forests in front of you, which you will never forget. Finally you reach the small town of Pienza, which was designed on the drawing board as an “ideal city” by Pope Pius II. On an entertaining city tour you stroll through the narrow winding streets, see the cathedral and imposing palaces of the Renaissance. One last time you can enjoy the view over Crete Senesi, which shows its most beautiful side around Pienza. Before returning to the hotel, you drive on one of the most beautiful streets in Italy. White country roads meander up the hills, lined with cypress avenues, – landscapes made in heaven.
Day 3: Charming Volterra
The varied route demands a lot from your Alfa Romeo Spider today. A wonderful, winding country road takes you via Castellina in Chianti to San Gimignano, past majestic villas, medieval castles and secluded monasteries. Afterwards you drive to the etruscan city of Volterra, where you will get to know the cultural highlights on a guided tour through the picturesque old town. The roadbook takes you back to the hotel, past endless vineyards and hills covered with typical macchia. In the evening we take you to a medieval fortified hamlet where you can share your impressions whilst having an opulent dinner.
Day 4: Siena – A Gothic city jewel
You will let your gaze wander once more into the idyllic distance before you will be convinced by the cultural legacy of the beautiful city of Siena on a city tour. The mighty cathedral, whose elaborately decorated marble inlays on the floor have achieved worldwide fame, dominates the cityscape. Back at the hotel, you say goodbye to “your” Alfa Romeo Spider with a heavy heart. With vivid memories of eventful days, we bring you back to the airport on time. Arrivederci and see you soon!

Tuscany is one of the most picturesque regions of Italy. It impresses with its unique and diverse landscape. Vineyards mingle with olive trees and alternate with the original bareness of the countryside. This sparseness is broken up by lanes of towering cypress trees. Little-used roads wind their way up hills and run through small sleepy villages. Like a backdrop from a 1950’s Italian film.
With Nostalgic you drive on selected routes in Tuscany. Many of them were also sections of the legendary Mille Miglia race. But Tuscany does not only make the hearts of car enthusiasts beat faster. It also offers lovers of culture cities such as Siena and San Gimignano and places of interest such as the fortress at Monteriggioni. Even in the weeks before the world-famous horse race, the Palio, in Siena, you might be able to watch the teams during their rehearsals and preparations for the big race. They stroll through the city in their period costumes and practice on their drums preparing for the perfect entry to the Piazza del Campo.
