    Day 1: Ferdinand Porsche Museum

You will start your drive from Munich in your VW Beetle east in the direction towards the Chiemsee. Along the drive you will go through the musing city of Amerang where the EFA Automobile Museum lies. Although the history of classic cars that is offered at this Museum is incredibly comprehensive it remains a rarely explored marvel. However, when this museum is recommended by names such as Zündapp, Glass, Wanderer, NSU, and Auto Union that really says something and we highly recommend you take a visit.

The Bavarian panorama is quickly replaced by the picturesque Salzburg Lake district that goes all the way to the Matt Sea. From there you will visit the private classic car collection of one of the most important pioneers of the automotive industry: Ferdinand Porsche, who is not only the epitome of sports car manufacturing, but also an ingenious engineer and inventor of the VW Beetle itself. His private car collection includes many of his own creations from the Austro Daimler racing cars to the Porsche tractors to even his own biplane aircraft. On the edge of the old town, the newly built 2017 “Cool Mama” hotel awaits you with its modern fusion kitchen, chillout rooftop bar and a room with spectacular views over the city of Salzburg.

Day 2: Hangar 7 and the Salzburg Lake district

Take a moment to bask in the classical Salzburg atmosphere after eating breakfast at the hotel buffet. If Sachertorte, Festspiele, and Mozart are not your cup-of-tea, then take a visit to the Red Bull “Hangar 7” and the Salzburg Designer Outlet instead. Hangar 7 offers some spectacular architecture, vintage airplanes: the “Flying Bull” as an example, also an art museum with an ever-changing exhibition and many exciting exhibits from the most diverse extreme sports, all sponsored by Red Bull. If you’re too enthused to set off in your VW Beetle Cabriolet, head east to the romantic Fuschl lake, and on to the Moon lake and Wolfgang lake. For the return trip to Munich you have two serpentine mountain roads to choose from: via Bad Reichenhall, Kössen and the “Tatzelwurm” to Schliersee or via the infamous Rossfeld panoramic road near Berchtesgaden and Traunstein back towards Munich.
