Tuscan cuisine is enchanting. It combines simplicity with fresh ingredients. The dishes are down to earth, but prepared with great skill and much love. The most important part of a Tuscan meal is the bread. It is served in countless variations - from simple flat bread up to the Pan di Ramerino that is flavoured with raisins and rosemary.
Of course, in this area, good wine is never missing. Tuscan wines are characterized by their exceptional flavour. A classic and certainly the most famous wine is the ruby-red Chianti. A black rooster on a gold ground, the "Gallo Nero", graces the labels of wines from the Chianti. A variety of fattorie (local wine producers) offer interested wine lovers the opportunity to taste the top quality of their wines.
